Sonora Signature Events Preliminary Concept 1.1
Let’s Build the SONORA Brand
to Enhance Tourism & Our Economy

In partnership between the City of Sonora and The Sonora Chamber of Commerce, an Event Management and Presenter Program (EMPP) will be developed to brand, organize, promote, and professionally manage events that enhance tourism, economic development, and community pride in Sonora and Tuolumne County.

The prime reasons visitors choose a destination are:
1.) Visiting family or friends
2.) Festivals [Special Events]
3.) Outdoor activities
4.) Natural beauty

Unique Events Celebrating Our Community & Culture

The mission of the EMPP is to be a respected producer of themed events, which enhance the quality of life, build a sense of belonging to a unique region, and invite participation and involvement in the community, increase public awareness regionally for Greater Sonora and the surrounding area. The Venues for EMPP will be Sonora’s Historic Downtown, as well as Mother Lode Fairgrounds, whenever possible.

Become A Part of Great Signature Events

All events will rely on branding SONORA as a presenter and destination for unique events, themed to draw people locally, regionally and ultimately nationally. Although, many portions of the events will be established as free public events there will be an additional revenue-generating component, whether from ticket sales, sponsorships, grants, advertising or merchandising.
